Lakeview Lodges is situated just outside the small village of Old Leake, where there are two pubs a small supermarket and a children’s play area. The site is ½ mile from the A52 with a regular bus service to Boston and Skegness.
Sheepgate Equestrian Centre is 2 miles away, where National Dressage competitions are held. The RSPB reserve at Freiston Shore is 5 miles away, offering excellent opportunities for bird-watchers and nature lovers. Being situated on the east coast there are many public foot paths and nature walks that are suitable to dog walking.
There is also Leverton village to the South of Old Leake. Leverton has a café, supermarket and pub. There are many country lanes around the site which are ideal for walking and cycling.
Many other towns and villages are within easy reach of this peaceful site. There are the historic market towns of Spilsby and Horncastle, the latter with its numerous antique shops and centres. Boston has a market on Wednesday and Saturdays, and other visitor attractions such as the ‘Stump’, the nickname given to St. Botolph’s church, whose tower is thought to be the highest non-cathedral church tower in the world.
Further away is the city of Lincoln with its impressive cathedral that dominates the skyline from nearly every approach to the city. Lincoln Castle usually displays a copy of the Magna Carta and the historic bailgate area has many traditional shops and boutiques.
